Reverse tire size lookup, explained

A normal tire search starts from a vehicle. This one works the other way round: start with a tire size and find every vehicle that runs it. Type a size like 235/45R18 and the lookup matches it against factory (OEM) fitments and compatible alternate sizes, then lists the makes, models and years that use it — each flagged as an OEM fit or a validated alternate.

1

Enter a tire size

Type any size such as 235/45R18 or P265/70R17. Suggestions appear as you type to keep the format valid.

2

We match it

The size is matched against OEM fitments and alternate sizes validated by the ±3% overall-diameter rule.

3

See the vehicles

Every make, model and year that runs the size, clearly labelled as an OEM fit or a compatible alternate.

Why alternates are validated against ±3%

A size only counts as a compatible alternate for a vehicle when its overall diameter stays within roughly 3% of that vehicle's OEM tire. We compute the diameter for each candidate and keep only the ones inside the ±3% band — so when a result is flagged as an alternate, it's a size that actually fits, not just a size that looks similar.

Frequently asked questions

What cars use 235/45R18?

Enter 235/45R18 in the search above and you'll get a list of every make, model and year in our data that runs it — both as a factory OEM size and as a validated alternate. The same works for any size: type it in and see the vehicles.

How does reverse tire size lookup work?

Instead of starting from a vehicle, you start from a tire size. The size is matched against OEM fitments and against alternate sizes whose overall diameter falls within the ±3% rule, then we return the vehicles tied to those matches.

What's the difference between an OEM match and an alternate match?

An OEM match means the size you searched is the factory-recommended size for that vehicle. An alternate match means the searched size is a compatible substitute — its overall diameter is within ±3% of that vehicle's OEM size, so it fits without changing the rolling circumference much.

Why would I search vehicles by tire size?

It's useful when you have a tire in hand or in stock and want to know what it fits — handy for tire shops moving inventory, for matching a used set to a car, or simply to see how widely a size is used across makes and models.

What tire size format should I enter?

Use the standard metric format — for example 235/45R18, P265/70R17 or 205/55R16. The search box suggests valid sizes as you type, so you can pick one rather than guess the exact notation.

Does a match guarantee the tire will fit my car?

A match means the size is OEM or within the ±3% diameter window for that vehicle, which is the main fitment check. Always also confirm load index, speed rating, wheel width and clearance for your specific vehicle before fitting.
